My Next Tattoo
Image by ohnochriso I have wanted a tattoo of Athena with her owl and wearing her helmet - the symbols of her wisdom and her warrior status - for years. I entertained trying to get this photo of a statue to work as one for a long time, but it seemed it would look so awkward. The other night I was reading The Watchmen for the first time (I know, I know) and I saw this image in one of the accompanying pieces that come with each issue and I knew immediately it was the perfect representation I'd been looking for. I am lucky beyond lucky that I have befriended a skilled tattoo apprentice who will be putting it on me this Sunday for a really low fee. Pictures to come.
